Engaging alumni to support and give is always a challenge. When you need to engage the alumni of a community college district, you need a way to capture attention and show the value of the work being done in a quick and creative way.
The Los Rios Colleges Foundation needed to engage and activate the thousands of regional alumni. With a mission of supporting students by providing the essential funding that taxes and government support fall short on, the Foundation was struggling with awareness about the need, not to mention donations to support it.
The Foundation needed a new way to connect with alumni, stakeholders, and existing donors so they not only knew about the great work they were doing for students but why they were an organization worthy of investment.
The Los Rios Community College District had already been working with 3fold on a district-wide enrollment campaign. The campaign recruited real students and had them tell their own stories behind choosing community college as the best pathway for reaching their dreams.
In order to quickly align the Foundation with the students it served, we knew we needed to align the look and feel of the Foundation's story with the "Smart Move" campaign.
With the look and feel established, we then created a unique brand for the Foundation's value proposition. The "Los Rios Promise" brand was designed to be an umbrella for all storytelling around the focus and work of the Foundation.
Using the branding combined with the campaign base of the "Smart Move" campaign, we wove the existing library of student stories and creative illustrations with the important data and background information of the Foundation.
This resulted in a landing page and an outreach video for students who could benefit from the Los Rios Promise funding, as well as a series of handouts to entice new and recurring donors to give to the Promise program.
The Los Rios Colleges Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides financial support to keep students in school and on the path to a better life. With a mission investing in the students to help them achieve their aspirations through education, they provide essential resources to the four colleges of the Los Rios Community College District when other funding sources fall short.
