A community’s health is determined by more than its hospitals and healthcare services. It’s shaped by its people, its neighborhoods, its businesses and nonprofit organizations, and its combined commitment to taking care of everyone who lives within its borders. It takes strong leadership and vision. That’s where Sutter Health Valley Area stepped in.
Sutter Health partnered with 3fold to demonstrate how their grants, support programs, and internal teams’ community service efforts built and nurtured a network of good in the Sacramento, California Valley Area.
To do this, 3fold focused on storytelling—telling the specific stories of impact happening in each of the 9 hospital affiliates’ territories across the region, including what Sutter Health Valley Area’s community benefit investment accomplished for each community.
3fold created a campaign that tied everything together.
3fold helped Sutter Health Valley Area External Affairs tell a single story by bringing together everything affecting its community benefit work—their internal investment strategy, the over-arching organizational priorities, the efforts and accomplishments of community partners.
The key approach was to solidify and leverage the existing community awareness work and align it with existing funding priorities. Under a campaign umbrella, we were able to build momentum with consistent and comprehensive messaging, generate greater public general awareness, and take advantage of new opportunities to communicate strategic direction and priorities, all while demonstrating overall community investment and impact.
3fold’s work benefited the organization by boosting internal and external awareness of these programs. More importantly, it increased the success of the Sutter Health community-based grantees’ work by using the powerful Sutter Health brand name to shine a spotlight on the critical work of these smaller organizations and their benefit to their communities overall.
