Recruiting Rural Patients to Essential Health Services

At SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium

Background

The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is a non-profit health consortium serving the wellness interests for the residents of Southeast Alaska.

Historically SEARHC only provided services to Alaska Native residents, but recently has opened its care to all southeastern residents in Juneau. This business model change meant 3fold had to find a way for SEARHC to reach non-Native residents in rural locations with comprehensive messaging.

Approach

SEARHC partnered with 3fold to help reposition them as the healthcare provider of choice caring for the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – using a diverse, comprehensive collection of media placements.

3fold developed an integrated campaign that included paid search and social media content, online display, streaming audio, broadcast radio, connected and broadcast TV, regional print publications, native ad placements, plus geo-fenced mobile targeting to hyper-target smaller segment audiences. We utilized geographic data along with behavioral and psychological insights to create tailored messages helping our audience feel seen and understood.

Above Goal

Results

Initially presented with the goal of acquiring 750 new patients in Juneau, our work together resulted in reaching 527% of that goal as 3,949 new patients began their care journey with SEARHC. Additionally, we more than doubled the number of Juneau’s non-Native patients from 2,811 to 6,043.
