Businesses large and small are engaging with their customers and the community in new ways during the coronavirus outbreak. How they communicate now could make or break whether those customers remain loyal once the economy gets going again.

“I think we’re going to see a messaging shift,” said Katelyn Downey, vice president of client services for Sacramento’s 3fold Communications. “Less of a ‘I’m going to sell you something’ to more of a, ‘How are we going to get through this together?'”

Downey said that it’s been important for her clients to adapt quickly to the changes we’re seeing during this public health crisis, and that when the crisis is over, customers will remember the businesses that made quick pivots and effective communications outreach.
