This past week was action packed for 3fold! Between the 3fold Sherpas climbing a combined 9,792 steps, diving in to our annual March Madness bracket competition, and attending a number of regional events, we also took home five CAPPIE awards from this year’s Sacramento Public Relations Association annual dinner! A week in review:
Fight for Air Climb: The 3fold Sherpas made their way to the top of the Wells Fargo building on Saturday morning, proudly sporting some stylish 3fold green accessories, and all for a great cause. Several of the team members even completed a double climb—that’s 64 (insane) flights of stairs. As a team, we raised $7,724.00 for the American Lung Association. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who donated and supported the team—we each had a cocktail in your honor. Thank you!
SPRA’s CAPPIE Awards: Hands down a fantastic night for 3fold. Taking home five CAPPIE awards, including a gold, three silvers and a bronze, we were humbled by the recognition from our peers. We work hard for our clients and are proud of the projects we complete on their behalf, so it’s an honor to be recognized for that work. SPRA always puts on an amazing event allowing us to have a fun-filled night socializing with all our PR colleagues.
All Around Sacramento: The 3folders were out and about the region throughout the week, attending several fantastic events. First there was the ARI Community Services’ Lunar New Year Dinner, which included inspiring speeches, an amazing short film highlighting the need to support their summer youth employment program, and even a magician—it was a truly magical evening (see what we did there?).
Another event was Project DREAM’s fundraiser, which raised more than $50,000 to help bring important, positive activities to young people in the Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD). A particular highlight for the 3fold table was outbidding the room for an Oreo cheesecake during the dessert auction (we are notoriously competitive when sweets are involved). Finally, we got a peek at what’s to come in the Sacramento region at SACTO’S Salute to New Industry Luncheon, which recognizes and introduces new businesses to the Sacramento region, as well as awarding local companies for industry innovation.
March Madness: Every year, 3fold holds a friendly (sometimes) NCAA March Madness bracket competition. While most of our brackets have been thoroughly busted, the competition is no less fierce. And this year we’ve adopted a particularly inspiring reason to not come in dead last (unless you’re Gordon, in which case this would have doubled as the grand prize): last place finisher has to sing a song of the team’s choosing at our weekly staff meeting. For the time being, I (Alicia), have taken the lead and, unfortunately, the person in last place has no more teams left in the tournament, so it does not bode well. Stay tuned for the big results (and possibly a YouTube video of the last-place finisher’s forthcoming power ballad)!
Now, on to an exciting new week! This is us wishing you a lovely and productive week ahead.
